Here are the steps to follow to make a backup copy of your accounting data.<\/p>\r\n\t\t<ol>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>Open the Acomba company which data you want to backup.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>From the <strong>File<\/strong> menu, select <strong>Backup\u2026<\/strong><br>\r\n\t\t\tThe <strong>Backup<\/strong> window is displayed.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads-svn\/faq\/prendre-copie-de-sauvegarde-de-vos-donnees-comptables\/img1_EN.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>Select the <strong>Backup<\/strong> tab.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>From the <strong>Destination<\/strong> option group, select the desired type of backup operation to perform.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Disk<\/strong>: The <strong>Disk<\/strong> option is used to save the copy on diskette, hard drive, tape or any other removable media.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>E-Mail<\/strong>: The <strong>E-Mail<\/strong> option is used to send the backup copy to the recipient over the Internet.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>From the <strong>Backup Options<\/strong> group, select the desired options.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Index Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include Acomba index files into the backup copy. Index files are file allocation tables. It is not required to save them as Acomba automatically compiles the index files when the backup copy is restored.`<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Report Files<\/strong> : Select this option to include the <strong>Reports<\/strong> sub-directory of the company folder into the backup copy. By default, the <strong>Report<\/strong> sub-directory contains the archived report files such as daily reports, payroll journals, etc.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Report Generator Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include .RGS. These files are reports created using either the Acomba Report Generator (.RGS). To be added to the accounting data backup copy, these files must be saved in the company folder.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include TFE Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy the electronic funds transfer files found in the company folder and the TFE setup information.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Attachment Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy files attached to calls, E-mail messages, etc. that are stored in the <strong>Attach<\/strong> sub-directory.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Company Documentation Library Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy files linked to the Company Documentation Library feature, sorted in the <strong>LibCorpo<\/strong> sub-directory.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Stocktaking Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy the stocktaking files found in the company's <strong>PriseInv<\/strong> folder.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Archive Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy the archive files found in the company's <strong>Archive<\/strong> folder.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Fortune 1000 Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy the Fortune 1000 data files found in the company folder that you wish to save.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Include Additional Files<\/strong>: Select this option to include into the backup copy files unrelated to Acomba. They can be Word, Excel or other files. Those files must be specified int he Acombak.txt file.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>From the <strong>Format<\/strong> option group, select the file format.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Compressed<\/strong>: This format is used to compress the resulting file at a ratio of 10 to 1. It is the most commonly used option.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Compressed with Password<\/strong>: This format is used to compress the resulting file at a ratio of 10 to 1 and to protect the backup copy using a password that is required to restore the data.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Uncompressed<\/strong>: This option is used to copy the actual data files at the location specified in the <strong>Destination Folder<\/strong> field.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>Insert a diskette as needed and click <strong>Backup<\/strong>.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>The <strong>Saving Backup Copy<\/strong> window is displayed.<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li><span>\r\n\t\t\t<p>In the <strong>Save In<\/strong> box, specify where to save the backup copy.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Note : <\/strong>When the backup copy must be saved to a CD, save the backup file on the computer hard drive first, for example, in <strong>My Documents<\/strong>, then burn the file on the CD.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>\r\n\t\t\t<p>In the <strong>File Name<\/strong> box, enter the name of the data backup file.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Warning<\/strong> : No blank space, accent or punctuation mark are allowed in the filename.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>\r\n\t\t\t<p>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.      <br>\r\n\t\t\tThe <strong>Confirmation<\/strong> window is displayed.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads-svn\/faq\/prendre-copie-de-sauvegarde-de-vos-donnees-comptables\/img2_EN.jpg\" alt=\"\">\r\n\t\t\t<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li>\r\n\t\t\t<span>\r\n\t\t\t<p>Make sure the destination device is in the drive and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<p>The <strong>Backup Files: Disk Contents<\/strong> window is displayed.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads-svn\/faq\/prendre-copie-de-sauvegarde-de-vos-donnees-comptables\/img3_EN.jpg\" alt=\"\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<p>Below is the description of the window's contents.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Target Folder<\/strong>: This line displays the destination of the backup copy.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Folder Contains<\/strong>: This line displays the number of files found in the destination folder.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Free Space<\/strong>: This line displays the destination folder available space.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Estimated Size of Backup<\/strong>: This line displays the size of the backup file. Use this information to estimate the free space needed to save the file.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Disk Contents<\/strong>: This command is used to display the contents of the destination folder. The <strong>View Disk Contents<\/strong> window is displayed to let you view or delete files.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<li><span><strong>Refresh<\/strong>: This command is used to refresh the information displayed on the <strong>Folder Contains<\/strong> and <strong>Free Space<\/strong> lines.
