BizPal: Streamline
the process for getting
permits and licenses
for your business

Launched by Industry Canada in 2005, BizPal is a free platform that allows Canadian entrepreneurs to automatically obtain the list of permits and licenses they have to get from their municipality, their provincial government and the federal government.

BizPal was only set up in Quebec in 2014, so it is still not well-known in the province. We therefore felt it would be useful to present the main features here.

A single window to save time and money

For a business that is starting up or expanding, getting a license can be a difficult and frustrating experience. With the help of BizPal, the process is greatly simplified, since it allows entrepreneurs to spend less time contacting the three levels of government to comply with current laws.

The platform is also available 24/7. For a busy business manager, this type of flexibility can make all the difference.

The BizPal database is not complete, but with several hundred participating municipalities, including 125 in Quebec, it’s an excellent way to reduce red tape and focus on more important activities, such as creating or adjusting a business plan.
